After each having a week off, the Wiregrass Ranch Bulls and the Palmetto Tigers will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Wiregrass Ranch comes in on three and Palmetto on seven.
Two weeks ago, Wiregrass Ranch was fully in charge, breezing past River Ridge 34-7. The Bulls pushed the score to 27-7 by the end of the third, a deficit the Royal Knights had little chance of recovering from.

Wiregrass Ranch's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Daniel Terry, who threw for 324 yards and four touchdowns, and also punched in one rushing score. Those four passing touchdowns gave Terry a new career-high. Jonah Gonzalez also helped out as he racked up 145 receiving yards.
Wiregrass Ranch's run defense was locked in: River Ridge could only muster three yards per carry. The team can thank Carmelo Joseph for the heroic effort on defense: he. They're 1-3 when they shut down the run game so well.
Wiregrass Ranch didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Alex McCollough. Wiregrass Ranch got some further help from Joseph: he picked up a sack and made ten total tackles.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Palmetto duked it out with East Lee County two weeks ago. The Tigers' defense stepped up to hand the Jaguars a 50-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won six games by 22 points or more so far this season.
Wiregrass Ranch better keep an eye on Matthew Hennesey. He was instrumental in Palmetto's win, throwing for 144 yards and three TDs on only ten passes. Jok Harris was in the mix too, providing the Tigers with two scores.
Palmetto's record now sits at 9-1. As for Wiregrass Ranch, the win got them back to even at 5-5.
Wiregrass Ranch took a serious blow against Palmetto in their previous meeting back in November of 2021, falling 41-6. Thankfully for the Bulls, Cleve Benson (who rushed for 107 yards and three touchdowns) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
