Baseball Recap: Ottawa Hills Takes a Loss

Ottawa Hills had lost seven straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 1-14 to make it eight. They lost 15-0 to the Forest Hills Northern Huskies. That's two games in a row now that the Bengals have lost by exactly 15 runs.

As for Forest Hills Northern, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 7-8. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matches by seven runs or more this season.

For Forest Hills Northern's part, Sam Garrett looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Garrett has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Forest Hills Northern got a massive performance out of Devin Tiedgen, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. That's the most runs Tiedgen has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Parker Schramski, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.

Coming up, Ottawa Hills is taking a road trip to square off against Union at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. The Bengals are facing the Red Hawks at the right time seeing as the Red Hawks are stuck on a ten-game losing streak. As for Forest Hills Northern, they will square off against Traverse City Central at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
