Basketball Game Preview: Newton (Home School) Mustangs vs. Chanute Christian

The Newton (Home School) Mustangs are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will face off against Chanute Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Chanute Christian took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Newton (Home School), who comes in off a win.

On Friday, Newton (Home School) didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Flint Hills Christian, but they still walked away with a 37-33 win.

Newton (Home School)'s win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Chloe Hoelscher, who made all 7 shots she took to post 14 points in addition to six boards and six steals. Hannah Hoelscher was another key player, putting up nine points and seven rebounds.

Chanute Christian kicked off their season on the road last Thursday and hit a couple of potholes. They were dealt a 59-8 defeat at the hands of El Dorado Christian. Chanute Christian has struggled against El Dorado Christian recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Everything came up roses for Newton (Home School) against Chanute Christian in their previous matchup back in February, as the squad secured a 57-10 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mustangs since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
