Basketball Game Preview: Bishop Carroll Golden Eagles vs. Great Bend Panthers

Having just played yesterday, the Bishop Carroll Golden Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Great Bend Panthers at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

While Golden Eagles fans will have to keep waiting for their squad to come home, they shouldn't be too worried about the road trip considering the result of Friday's season opener. They breezed past Hutchinson to the tune of 70-41 on Friday.

Bishop Carroll's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Brody Kreutzer, who posted 21 points. Jaxon Wright was another key player, putting up 15 points.

Meanwhile, Great Bend gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Andover Central 78-51.

Bishop Carroll couldn't quite finish off Great Bend in their previous meeting back in February of 2024 and fell 54-51. Can the Golden Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
