Baseball Recap: Cherry Victorious

While Cherry's win against Chisholm wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Tigers won by a run and slipped past the Bluestreaks 6-5. The victory continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Bluestreaks: they've now won seven in a row.

Noah Asuma was excellent, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base. He is becoming a predictor of Cherry's success: when he posts at least three RBI the team is undefeated (and 3-4 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Max Bautch, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Cherry's win bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Chisholm, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 6-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cherry will square off against North Woods at 12:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Chisholm, they will venture away from home to challenge Ely at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
