Football Game Preview: Illinois C Crusaders vs. Cincinnati Eagles

Illinois C is 0-4 against Cincinnati since September of 2021 but things could change on Saturday. The Crusaders will take on the Eagles at 3:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

On Saturday, Illinois C was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 28-24 to Osceola Grace Eagles. Despite 127 more yards than the Oscee, the Crusaders couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.

Although Illinois C took the loss, they still got scores from Nolan Langston and Kellen Langston.

Meanwhile, Cincinnati and Columbus Crusaders squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Cincinnati had to settle for second. They came up short against Columbus Crusaders, falling 35-14. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last six times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

The match pitted two dominant backs against one another in Jordan Jacobson and Ezekiel Bowie. Bowie had a great game and rushed for 185 yards and two TDs while picking up 8.4 yards per carry. Meanwhile, Jacobson was balling out in the loss, rushing for 145 yards.

Cincinnati's record now sits at 7-4. As for Illinois C, they now have a losing record of 4-5.

Illinois C was dealt a bruising 42-0 loss at the hands of Cincinnati in their previous matchup back in August of 2023. Can the Crusaders avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
