Football Recap: Adam Gordon's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Questa over Menaul

The matchup between Questa and Menaul on Saturday hardly resembled the 15-12 effort from their previous meeting. The Wildcats fell 40-30 to the Panthers. The Wildcats haven't had much luck with the Panthers recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Adam Gordon, who rushed for 128 yards and one TD. Another rusher making a difference was Juan Cisneros, who rushed for 64 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only eight carries.

Luke Boatman had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 289 yards and three scores on only 11 carries, while also throwing for 159 yards and a pair of TDs on only 14 passes for Menaul. With that strong performance, Boatman is now averaging an impressive 100.7 rushing yards per game.

Questa's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Menaul, they pushed their record up to 5-3 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Questa wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 54-16 defeat against Clayton on the 24th. As for Menaul, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 50-0 win against Cloudcroft on the 24th.
