Softball Game Recap: William Byrd Terriers vs. Pulaski County Cougars

William Byrd extended their losing streak to three on Monday, dropping their season record down to 3-7 in the process. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 10-6 to the Pulaski County Cougars, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cougars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-6 on Monday.

As for Pulaski County, they pushed their record up to 7-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. That's two games straight that they have won by exactly four runs.

For Pulaski County's part, Shelby Dobbins was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Carly Hight, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles.

Coming up, William Byrd will square off against Staunton River at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Golden Eagles will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something the Terriers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Pulaski County, they will challenge Christiansburg at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cougars' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Blue Demons have averaged an impressive 8.4 runs per game this season.
