Baseball Recap: Bella Vista Gets the Win

For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last three times Bella Vista and Inderkum have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Tuesday. Bella Vista came out on top against Inderkum by a score of 6-2. The Broncos have beaten the Tigers the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Tigers has come to flipping the script.

Devin James spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on two hits and racked up 11 Ks. He has become a key player for Bella Vista: the team is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 3-5 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Gage Titus was excellent, scoring two runs while going 2-for-2. Those two hits gave him a new career-high. Zack O'Neill was another key player, going 1-for-2 with three RBI and one double.

Bella Vista's victory bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Inderkum, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season.

Bella Vista will have a chance to go back-to-back against Inderkum: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
