Football Preview: Armstrong River Hawks vs. Hampton Talbots
The Armstrong River Hawks are taking a road trip to take on the Hampton Talbots at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
While River Hawks fans will have to keep waiting for their team to come home, they shouldn't be too worried about the road trip considering the result of Friday's season opener. They pulled ahead with a 38-37 photo finish over Highlands on Friday. The win was some much needed relief for the River Hawks as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak dating back to last season.
A big part of the victory came down to the chemistry between Jaydon Oliver and his top target Kyan Kline. Oliver threw for 270 yards and three touchdowns while Kline picked up 130 receiving yards and a touchdown. Kline was no stranger to the big play, connecting with a big catch that went for 62 yards. Armstrong also got help from Chase Jablonski, who showed off his sure hands for 91 receiving yards.
