Volleyball Recap: Monument Valley's Run of Four Straight Victories Now Over

It was a good run, but Monument Valley unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-match winning streak on Friday. They fell 2-0 to the Rowland Hall Winged Lions. The Cougars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Winged Lions apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2022.

While Monument Valley had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 18 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-18, 25-21.

Naomi White paced Monument Valley's offense, picking up three kills. White got some help from Ayainna Cly and her eight assists. LeighAn Atene controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Monument Valley's loss dropped their record down to 16-8-1. As for Rowland Hall, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 13-11.

Monument Valley didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against Wayne on the 17th. As for Rowland Hall, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-1 loss against Tintic on the 17th.
