Volleyball Recap: Maud Comes Up Short

Maud was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Rivercrest Rebels. The Cardinals were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Rebels earlier this season, when they won 3-0.

Maud couldn't get the win, but they sure gave Rivercrest a tough time in the fourth set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 25-21, 25-20, 28-30, 16-14.

Maud now has a losing record of 12-13-1. As for Rivercrest, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-16.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Maud will challenge rival Bowie at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Rivercrest is set to take on their familiar foe Clarksville at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
