Basketball Game Preview: Box Elder Bees vs. Green Valley Gators

The Box Elder Bees will be taking part in a tournament against the Green Valley Gators at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Box Elder has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Box Elder is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took a 67-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of Mountain Crest on Wednesday.

Box Elder's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Ava Miles, who shot 46% from the field en route to 17 points, and Marley Barber, who posted 12 points. McKenzee Jeffries also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Meanwhile, Green Valley gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They walked away with a 51-40 victory over Durango. The win continues a trend for the Gators in their matchups with the Trailblazers: they've now won five in a row.

Box Elder better keep an eye on Tabitha Bwakamba. She was instrumental in Green Valley's win, putting up 16 points. Those 16 points gave Bwakamba a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Talitah Hendy, who earned ten points.

Box Elder's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Green Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
