Preview: Banneker Bulldogs vs. North Stafford Wolverines
Having just played yesterday, the Banneker Bulldogs will jump right back in to play the North Stafford Wolverines at 2:30 p.m. on Friday. Banneker will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
Banneker has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matchups by 25 points or more this season. Everything went their way against Banneker Academy on Thursday as Banneker made off with a 69-44 victory. Banneker's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Rainelle McNeill continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 17 points and 32 steals. She continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last four games she's played. Promise Njoku was another key contributor, scoring 21 points along with four blocks.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 55 points the game before, North Stafford were a bit more limited in their game last Wednesday. They had to suffer through a rough 69-24 loss at the hands of Gainesville. While losing is never fun, North Stafford can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 141st, while Gainesville is ranked second).
Banneker's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for North Stafford, their loss dropped their record down to 8-3.
