Volleyball Recap: Fort Lupton Falls Short of Lutheran in the Playoffs

Fort Lupton and Lutheran squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Fort Lupton had to settle for second. They came up short against the Lions, falling 3-0. The Bluedevils' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it four in a row.

While Fort Lupton was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Lutheran's winning margin in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-8, 25-13, 25-16.

Tessa Johnson paced Fort Lupton's offense, picking up 11 kills. Johnson got some help from Andrea Anguiano and her six assists.

Fort Lupton's loss dropped their record down to 13-11. As for Lutheran, they pushed their record up to 18-6 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home.

Coincidentally, Fort Lupton and Lutheran will both be playing Thomas Jefferson the next time they take the court. The Bluedevils will head out to face the Spartans at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, while the Lions will play them later in the day, at 6:00 p.m.
