Flag Football Game Preview: Juarez Eagles vs. Trinity Blazers

The Juarez Eagles will square off against the Trinity Blazers at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many points in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Last Thursday, Juarez was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 12-6 to Noble Street College Prep.

Despite the loss, Juarez got top-tier performance from Rosa Patino, who rushed for 80 yards and one TD on only eight carries, and also threw for 225 yards on 15 of 25 attempts. Patino didn't just play on offense: she also made ten total tackles and defended four passes.

Even if they lost, Juarez's defense still kept up the pressure with nine sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Amairani Ramirez and Genesis Munoz, who racked up all nine sacks between them. Another thorn in Noble Street College Prep's side was Nathaly Caracheo, who made 11 total tackles and defended four passes in addition to snagging an interception.

Meanwhile, Trinity was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a 20-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of St. Francis.

Juarez's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Trinity, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-9.
