Basketball Game Preview: Thatcher Eagles vs. Sabino Sabercats

Having just played yesterday, the Thatcher Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Sabino Sabercats at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Thatcher comes in on four and Sabino on nine.

On Wednesday, Thatcher didn't have too much trouble with Morenci as they won 72-54.

Meanwhile, Sabino humbled Andrada Polytechnic with a 91-15 victory. The Sabercats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten matchups by 25 points or more this season.

Thatcher has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-10 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.3 points per game. As for Sabino, they pushed their record up to 18-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.

Thatcher came up short against Sabino in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, falling 56-50. Can Thatcher avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
