Football Game Preview: College Park Cavaliers vs. Cleveland Indians

College Park is a perfect 3-0 against Cleveland since September of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Cavaliers will host the Indians at 7:00 p.m. College Park knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 31 points or more in their past eight matchups -- so hopefully Cleveland likes a good challenge.

On Friday, College Park needed a bit of extra time to put away The Woodlands. They managed a 37-31 victory over the Highlanders. The win almost wasn't to be: the Cavaliers were down 21-7 in the second quarter.

A big part of College Park's victory came down to the chemistry between Camden Hughes and his top target Julian Cromartie. Hughes threw for 247 yards and three touchdowns while Cromartie picked up 132 receiving yards and three TDs. What's more, Hughes racked up 73 rushing yards, the most he's had since back in September of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Antonio Booker, who rushed for 71 yards and one score.

Meanwhile, Cleveland fell victim to The Woodlands and their airtight defense last Friday. They were dealt a 69-0 defeat at the hands of the Highlanders. While losing is never fun, the Indians can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 979th, while the Highlanders are ranked 52nd).

Cleveland's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for College Park, they pushed their record up to 8-0 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.

Everything came up roses for College Park against Cleveland in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 70-0 victory. Will the Cavaliers repeat their success, or do the Indians have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
