Baseball Recap: Savannah Country Day Comes Up Short

Savannah Country Day was the 3-2 winner over Prince Avenue Christian when they last played one another back in February of 2018, but their luck changed this time around. The Savannah Country Day Hornets came up short against the Prince Avenue Christian Wolverines on Thursday, falling 12-3.

Jackson Sammons was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one double. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. Tyler Scott was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

Savannah Country Day's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Prince Avenue Christian, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-1.

Coming up, Savannah Country Day will challenge Lamar County at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Prince Avenue Christian, they will square off against Metter at 3:00 p.m. on Friday.
