Basketball Recap: Providence Christian Sets Scoring Season-High Against New Jerusalem Christian Academy

Providence Christian scored the most points they've had this season on Tuesday, but it wasn't enough. They took a 58-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of the New Jerusalem Christian Academy Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 59-22 back in November.

New Jerusalem Christian Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Elijah Marcellus out in front who posted 14 points. Another player making a difference was Jayden Reid, who almost dropped a double-double with 14 points and nine rebounds.

Providence Christian's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for New Jerusalem Christian Academy, their win was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-0.

Providence Christian will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Palm Grove Christian at 7:00 p.m. on January 12, 2026. As for New Jerusalem Christian Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Community Christian at 4:30 p.m.
