Softball Recap: Nordonia Comes Up Short

Nordonia couldn't beat Solon on Tuesday even though they stacked four runs on them in the first inning. The Knights lost 14-8 to the Comets. If the Knights were looking for revenge after losing 12-2 to the Comets when the teams met back in April of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Maddie Nyce was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Hailey Yurmanovich was another key player, getting on base in two of her four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

Nordonia has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season. As for Solon, their win bumped their record up to 5-7.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Nordonia will square off against rival Stow-Munroe Falls at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Solon is set to challenge their familiar foe Wadsworth at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
