Basketball Recap: Shamrock Starts off Right with Win over River Road

Shamrock gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They came out on top against the River Road Wildcats by a score of 34-25. The win continues a trend for the Irish in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now won three in a row.

Shamrock got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Ruby Baggett out in front who posted ten points in addition to five rebounds and five steals. Those five steals gave Baggett a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Addison Jernigan, who put up seven points along with five assists and four steals.

Coming up, Shamrock will face off against Wheeler at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for River Road, they will look to take advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they take on Dimmitt at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
