Softball Recap: Junction City's Win on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Junction City had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Creswell Bulldogs a 14-0 shutout. Considering the Tigers have won five matches by more than eight runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Junction City's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-7. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.3 runs over those games. As for Creswell, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Junction City will venture away from home to face off against Henley at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Tigers will need to watch out since the Hornets have now posted at least ten runs in their last four contests. As for Creswell, they are taking a road trip to square off against Harrisburg at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs will need to watch out since the Eagles have now posted at least ten runs in their last seven matches.
