Basketball Game Preview: San Marino Titans vs. South Pasadena Tigers

The San Marino Titans will face off against the South Pasadena Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Last Saturday, San Marino was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 52-48 to San Marcos. While losing is never fun, the Titans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 308th, while the Royals are ranked 104th).

South Pasadena has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were a single point away from ending the streak, but they lost a 69-68 heartbreaker at the hands of George Washington Prep.

South Pasadena's loss dropped their record down to 11-6. As for San Marino, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-7.

San Marino came up short against South Pasadena when the teams last played back in January of 2024, falling 76-66. Can San Marino avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
