Baseball Game Preview: Eatonville Cruisers vs. Steilacoom Sentinels

The Eatonville Cruisers will take on the Steilacoom Sentinels at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Eatonville is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.

Eatonville came up short against Lakes on Friday, falling 10-4.

Eatonville saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Colton Herbrand, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Another was Ben Smith, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Steilacoom and Washington meet (two straight games heading into this one) and that held true again last Thursday. The Sentinels put the hurt on the Patriots with a sharp 21-4 win. The Sentinels might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matches by seven runs or more this season.

Eatonville's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Steilacoom, their victory bumped their record up to 7-2.

Eatonville couldn't quite get it done against Steilacoom in their previous meeting back in April of 2021 as they fell 9-5. Can the Cruisers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
