Two dominant backs in Demarcus Belton and Deandre Fields are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Alvarado Indians will head out to challenge the Carter-Riverside Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Alvarado is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.
The home team had come away the winner the last four times Alvarado and Kennedale had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Indians breezed past the Wildcats to the tune of 63-3 on Friday. Considering the Indians have won eight contests by more than 34 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

KJ Jenkins continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 287 yards and six touchdowns while completing 76.5% of his passes. What's more, he racked up 157.5 passer rating, the most he's had since back in August. Schyler Dethorne helped Jenkins out on the ground, picking up 127 receiving yards and one score.
Alvarado's run defense was locked in: Kennedale could only muster 1.8 yards per carry. The team can thank Dethorne for the heroic effort on defense: he. Alvarado hasn't allowed more than 6.3 yards per carry in five consecutive matchups.
Alvarado didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Devin Johnson and Layne Woolard. Alvarado received some extra help from Zyon Brown, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.
Meanwhile, Carter-Riverside hadn't done well against Western Hills recently (they were 0-6 in their previous six matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Eagles had just enough and edged out the Cougars 36-34.
This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Bobby Fields and Ryan Walters. Fields rushed for 180 yards and a pair of TDs on only ten carries while Walters rushed for 99 yards and one touchdown. Fields' longest rush was for an impressive 59 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.
Carter-Riverside's victory bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Alvarado, their win bumped their record up to 9-0.
The upcoming game will be a clash of competing strengths. Alvarado has relied on air attacks this season and has averaged 300.8 passing yards per game. Carter-Riverside, on the other hand, has relied on a stout run game: they average 278.3 rushing yards per game. So which strategy will prevail on Thursday? There's only one way to find out.
