Volleyball Recap: Rocky Grove Orioles vs. Wilmington Greyhounds
If Rocky Grove was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Jamestown on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Orioles fell 3-1 to the Wilmington Greyhounds on Thursday. The Orioles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Greyhounds apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.
Rocky Grove actually scored more points across those four sets (93-91), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The final score came out to 27-25, 12-25, 27-25, 25-18.
Olivia Faust paced Rocky Grove's offense, picking up 17 kills. Faust got some help from Jillian Cratty and her 18 assists. Kaidlynn Burger controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.
Wilmington found their leader in sophomore Kallin Sikorski, who had 15 digs and two aces. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyla Baney, who had eight digs.
