Basketball Recap: Spirit HomeSchool Takes a Loss

Spirit HomeSchool lost against Lowcountry Wildcats Athletics back in March of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Spirit HomeSchool Warhawks came up short against the Lowcountry Wildcats Athletics Wildcats, falling 59-37. While losing is never fun, the Warhawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 271st in Virginia, while the Wildcats are ranked 116th in South Carolina).

Lowcountry Wildcats Athletics' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Caroline McGee led the charge by dropping a double-double with 19 points and 11 rebounds. McGee is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last 22 games she's played. Another player making a difference was Regan Rundio, who posted 17 points in addition to eight boards and five steals.

Spirit HomeSchool's loss dropped their record down to 21-16. As for Lowcountry Wildcats Athletics, their win bumped their record up to 22-8.

Spirit HomeSchool didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 31-21 victory against NC H on the 7th. As for Lowcountry Wildcats Athletics, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 67-57 defeat against State Line HomeSchool R on the 7th.
