Volleyball Recap: Pinnacle Pioneers vs. Liberty Lions
If Pinnacle was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Mountain Ridge on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Pioneers fell 3-1 to the Liberty Lions on Wednesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 on October 14th.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 22-25, 25-23, 25-11.
Kate Hayes paced Pinnacle's offense, picking up 11 kills. Hayes got some help from Morgan Buhay and her 15 assists. Jaelyn Kangas and Kennedy Melashenko kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with two aces apiece.
Liberty was led to victory by Anabelle Peter and Georgia Sirard. Peter had 11 digs and two aces, while Sirard had 15 assists and ten digs. Sirard is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 12 or more in each of the last five games she's played.
Pinnacle's loss dropped their record down to 18-13. As for Liberty, they have been performing well recently as they've won 17 of their last 20 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-7 record this season.
Pinnacle wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Westwood on the 4th. Liberty does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
