Basketball Game Preview: Franklin Quakers vs. Benson Tech Astros

Franklin is 0-10 against Benson Tech since January of 2020 but things could change on Friday. The Franklin Quakers will host the Benson Tech Astros at 6:30 p.m.

Franklin is headed into Friday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Tuesday. They were dealt a 49-21 loss at the hands of Ida B. Wells. While losing is never fun, the Quakers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oregon basketball rankings (they are ranked 226th, while the Guardians are ranked 71st).

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Benson Tech, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They took their game on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 75-27 victory over Grant. The Astros have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine contests by 23 points or more this season.

Benson Tech has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.0 points over those games. As for Franklin, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-17.
