Softball Recap: Maxwell Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

It was a proper cat-fight when Maxwell faced off against Weed on Thursday. The Panthers came out on top against the Cougars by a score of 6-3. The victory was nothing new for the Panthers as they're now sitting on three straight.

Sophia Lopez was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, two doubles, and one run. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ruby Herrera, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.

Maxwell always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .565. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .515 or higher in four consecutive games.

Maxwell's win bumped their record up to 5-6-1. As for Weed, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.

Maxwell wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 13-5 loss against St. Bernard's on the 27th. As for Weed, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 15-12 victory against CORE Butte on the 26th.
