Football Recap: Capital Golden Eagles vs. Middleton Vikings

Capital and Middleton squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Capital had to settle for second. They had to suffer through a 64-34 loss at the hands of the Vikings. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Vikings this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 27-20 on October 16th.

Several Golden Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Elliot Schrack, who picked up 165 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Schrack's longest reception was for an incredible 71 yards. Quincey Clay got in on the action too, returning a kick for a touchdown.

Jake Perez had an outrageously good game for Middleton as he rushed for 207 yards and five TDs while picking up 8.3 yards per carry, and also picked up 39 receiving yards. Those five rushing touchdowns gave Perez a new career-high.

Capital's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-5. As for Middleton, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-3.

Capital does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Middleton, they will face off against Timberline at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 1,020 yards in their previous games.
