Volleyball Game Preview: Lakeland Thunderbirds vs. Ashland Oredockers

The Lakeland Thunderbirds will square off against the Ashland Oredockers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

On Thursday, Lakeland didn't have quite enough to beat Stratford and fell 3-2. The Thunderbirds have struggled against the Tigers recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Lakeland wouldn't go down easily and took Stratford into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking five-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 16-25, 25-16, 25-18, 17-25, 15-10.

Meanwhile, Ashland lost 3-0 to Cameron on Thursday.

While Ashland ultimately came up short, they really made Cameron work, particularly in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 25-9, 25-5.

Lakeland's loss dropped their record down to 19-12. As for Ashland, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-16.
