Covington piles up the points against Riverton Parke

Recap: Covington Trojans vs. Riverton Parke Panthers

The Covington Trojans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five games by 25 points or more this season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Riverton Parke 69-37 on the road. The victory was a breath of fresh air for Covington as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Covington found their leader in underclassman Landon Herzog, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 rebounds. Those 11 rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Coye Ferguson, who scored 15 points along with four blocks and three steals.

Covington now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Riverton Parke, they bumped their record down to 2-10 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight at home.

Covington won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against West Lafayette at 6:30 p.m. on January 6th. West Lafayette will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. As for Riverton Parke, they will head out on the road to face off against Attica at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
