Football Recap: Packer Hogrefe's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Stanton over Hemingford

Stanton and Hemingford squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Stanton had to settle for second. They came up short against the Bobcats, falling 50-26. The Mustangs were down 44-20 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Stanton lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Packer Hogrefe, who rushed for 57 yards and two scores, and also threw for 137 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Josh Arens was another key player, picking up 96 receiving yards and two TDs.

Stanton dropped their record down to 4-6 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Hemingford, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-1.

Stanton does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Hemingford, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 60-12 defeat against Crofton on the 7th.
