Softball Recap: Bear River Picks Up Seventh Consecutive Victory

Bear River came tearing into Wednesday's matchup with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Green Canyon Wolves a 15-0 shutout. The Bears might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten games by six runs or more this season.

Kate Wilson looked comfortable as she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Londyn Gamble, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Aubree Fry, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4.

Bear River always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .677. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .610 or higher in three consecutive contests.

Bear River's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Green Canyon, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-9.
