Soccer Game Preview: Lawrence vs. Olathe Northwest

The Lawrence Lions will take on the Olathe Northwest Ravens at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lawrence's last three matches have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Lawrence is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Kansas' top teams: Olathe East, who was ranked seventh at the time (Lawrence was ranked tenth). The Lions fell just short of the Hawks by a score of 1-0 on Thursday. That's two games in a row now that Lawrence have lost by just one goal.

Meanwhile, Olathe Northwest's game on Thursday was all tied up 1-1 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell just short of Shawnee Mission West by a score of 3-2. Olathe Northwest have struggled against Shawnee Mission West recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Olathe Northwest's defeat dropped their record down to 6-6-2. As for Lawrence, their loss dropped their record down to 10-3-1.

Lawrence skirted past Olathe Northwest 3-2 in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Do the Lions have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Ravens turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
