Basketball Game Preview: Liberty Preparatory Christian Academy Patriots vs. Christ the King Crusaders

The Liberty Preparatory Christian Academy Patriots just played last yesterday, but they'll still welcome the Christ the King Crusaders at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Liberty Preparatory Christian Academy will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

Liberty Preparatory Christian Academy will bounce into Tuesday's game after beating Forsyth Home Educators, who they had gone 0-3 against in their three prior meetings. The Patriots came out on top against the Hawks by a score of 35-22 on Monday.

Leia Garrett continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, almost dropping a triple-double with nine points, 11 boards, and nine blocks. Garrett is crushing it when it comes to rebounds: she's pulled down at least nine every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Priscilla Amend, who posted ten points and six boards.

Meanwhile, Christ the King unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They took a 50-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of Mooresville on Friday.

Despite the defeat, Christ the King saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Anna Haynes dropped a double-double with 22 points and 16 rebounds. Lucy Gorman was another key player, putting up two points in addition to nine steals, six assists, and six boards.

Liberty Preparatory Christian Academy's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Christ the King, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.

Liberty Preparatory Christian Academy took a serious blow against Christ the King in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, falling 60-25. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Patriots were down 40-12.
