Softball Game Preview: St. Pius X Warriors vs. Lexington Minutemen

The St. Pius X Warriors will square off against the Lexington Minutemen at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. St. Pius X will be strutting in after a victory while Lexington will be coming in after a defeat.

Having struggled with three losses in a row, St. Pius X turned things around against St. Michael the Archangel on Thursday. They came out on top against the Guardians by a score of 7-4.

Carrollton hit Lexington with a four-run first inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Minutemen lost 9-3 to the Trojans.

Lexington saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Zoey Earnest, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI. That double marked the first that Earnest has hit this season. Laniya Davis was another, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Lexington's defeat dropped their record down to 10-9. As for St. Pius X, their win bumped their record up to 3-4.

St. Pius X couldn't quite get it done against Lexington when the teams last played back in October of 2023 as they fell 14-10. Can the Warriors avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
