Softball Recap: Harrisonville Takes a Loss

Harrisonville made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Odessa, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Wildcats fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 4-2 on Tuesday. The Wildcats have struggled against the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Paige Cribbs put in work while hitting and pitching. She struck out six batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits. Cribbs was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Cribbs wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Rileigh Shaw, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Harrisonville now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Odessa, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-8 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Harrisonville will face off against rival Oak Grove at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Odessa is set to challenge their familiar foe Clinton at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
