Flag Football Game Preview: Warren Bears vs. Downey Vikings

The Warren Bears will face off against the Downey Vikings at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Warren sitting on four straight victories and Downey on 17.

Warren's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Paramount 45-0. That 45 point margin sets a new team best for the Bears this season.

Isabella Gonzalez had a dynamite game, throwing for 198 yards and four touchdowns. That's the most passing touchdowns she has posted since back in October of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Sofia Aceves, who rushed for 59 yards and one score on only seven carries.

Meanwhile, Downey's offense rose to the challenge against a Gladiators defense that boasted an average of only 9.52 points allowed on Monday. The Vikings blew past Gahr, posting a 46-6 win. The Vikings might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 matchups by 27 points or more this season.

Warren's victory bumped their record up to 8-10. As for Downey, their win bumped their record up to 18-3.

Everything went Warren's way against Downey when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as Warren made off with a 27-7 victory. Do the Bears have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Vikings turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
