Volleyball Recap: Alton Comes Up Short

Alton and Belleville East squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Alton had to settle for second. They fell 2-0 to the Lancers. The Redbirds just can't catch a break and have now endured seven losses in a row.

Belleville East found their leader in freshman Kailey Lane, who had 12 digs and two aces.

Alton's defeat dropped their record down to 9-25. As for Belleville East, they are on a roll lately: they've won 21 of their last 26 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 28-8 record this season.

Alton does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Belleville East, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against O'Fallon on the 30th.
