Basketball Game Preview: Verdugo Hills Dons vs. Central City Value Jaguars

The Verdugo Hills Dons will face off against the Central City Value Jaguars at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Verdugo Hills is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.

On Monday, Verdugo Hills came up short against Canyon and fell 50-40.

Verdugo Hills' defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Kayla Pimentel, who dropped a double-double with 18 points and 12 boards, and Nicole Olivera, who posted 15 points and three steals. That was a full 37.5% of the Dons' points, marking the third time in a row Olivera has had more than a third of the team's points.

Meanwhile, Central City Value's game last Thursday was all tied up 13-13 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They walked away with a 37-28 win over Stern. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Jaguars.

Central City Value's win came from a few key players Verdugo Hills will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Elisa Felipe, who shot 55% from the field on her way to 13 points and four steals. Dayara Moreno was another key player, putting up seven points and ten steals.

Verdugo Hills' loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Central City Value, their victory bumped their record up to 2-0.
