Baseball Recap: West Muskingum Takes a Loss

West Muskingum was the 11-1 winner over Logan when they last played one another back in March of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Tornadoes fell 11-8 to the Chieftains on Wednesday.

Sam Wiseman was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in May of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one double. He has been hot recently, having posted three or more hits the last three times he's played.

In other batting news, Wes Houston made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and fired off two home runs, five RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-4. Those home runs were his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashton Ansel, who scored two runs while going 1-for-4.

West Muskingum's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Logan, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Looking ahead, West Muskingum will be playing at home against Tri-Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Logan, they will head out to face off against Wellston at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
