Basketball Game Preview: BCLUW Comets vs. Clarksville Indians

After both having extra time off, the BCLUW Comets and the Clarksville Indians will dust off their jerseys to take on one another at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Clarksville is hoping to do what North Tama couldn't two weeks ago: put an end to BCLUW's winning streak, which now stands at six games. BCLUW claimed a resounding 78-23 win over North Tama. The Comets' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

While Clarksville didn't have the best season last year (they finished 10-13), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They simply couldn't be stopped two weeks ago as they easily beat Waterloo Christian 49-17. Given the Indians' advantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 139th, while the Regents are ranked 314th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

BCLUW pushed their record up to 6-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 21.8 points per game. As for Clarksville, their win bumped their record up to 5-2.

BCLUW took their victory against Clarksville in their previous matchup back in November of 2023 by a conclusive 60-34. Does BCLUW have another victory up their sleeve, or will Clarksville turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
