Softball Recap: Four Straight Road Wins for Pharr-San Juan-Alamo

Pharr-San Juan-Alamo won the last time they faced Edinburg North and things went their way on Friday too. The Bears had just enough and edged out the Cougars 5-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Bears have posted since February 14th.

Arieanna Hernandez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on six hits.

On the hitting side, Arianna Lugo was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one home run. The team also got some help courtesy of Azul Rios, who went 1-for-4 with one home run.

Pharr-San Juan-Alamo was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .379 or higher in three consecutive matchups.

Pharr-San Juan-Alamo's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 20-2. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 12.5 runs. As for Edinburg North, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 21-8-1.
