Volleyball Recap: Excelsior Springs Has No Trouble Against Winnetonka + How To Watch

Excelsior Springs lost to Winnetonka back in October of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The Tigers put the hurt on the Griffins with a sharp 3-0 victory.

While Excelsior Springs won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. The final score came out to 25-7, 25-23, 25-12.

Kendalyn Jones was the offensive standout of the matchup as she had six digs and two aces. Maddie Breshears also deserves some recognition as she had her first kills of the season.

They weren't the only good server: Excelsior Springs was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 15 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in October of 2024.

Despite the defeat, Winnetonka had strong showings from Adalynn Ridgley, who had 17 digs, and Diamond Cooper, who had one block.

Excelsior Springs' record is now 4-11-1. As for Winnetonka, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-8-1 record this season.

Excelsior Springs has already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Grandview on the 24th. As for Winnetonka, they will head out to face off against Raytown South at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
