Volleyball Recap: Crosspoint Christian Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Julie Liggett and Lizzy Schutt

Crosspoint Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Maranatha Baptist Academy Warriors. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Maranatha Baptist Academy this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-11, 12-25, 25-20.

Lizzy Schutt and Julie Liggett certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Schutt had six aces and four digs, while Liggett had 11 digs and nine aces. Schutt is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in each of the last 19 games she's played dating back to last season.

Crosspoint Christian's loss dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Maranatha Baptist Academy, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-4.

Crosspoint Christian has already played their next contest, a 3-1 victory against Varsity Opponent on the 16th. Maranatha Baptist Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
