Baseball Recap: Shadow Ridge Takes a Loss

Shadow Ridge and Palo Verde squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Shadow Ridge had to settle for second. They took a 9-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Panthers. The loss continues a trend for the Mustangs in their meetings with the Panthers: they've now lost four in a row.

Cole Jepsen was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits.

At the plate, Kyson Rollo and Oliver Schoppmann stepped up to the plate in a big way. Rollo went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI, while Schoppmann went 3-for-4 with two doubles. Schoppmann has been hot recently, having posted two or more doubles the last three times he's played.

Shadow Ridge's record is now 11-18. As for Palo Verde, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 16 of their last 18 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 25-8 record this season.

Shadow Ridge does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Palo Verde, they will take on Non JV Opponent at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
