The Webb Schools Gauls got the win against the Calvary Chapel Grizzlies on Thursday by a conclusive 3-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Gauls.

While The Webb Schools won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-16, 25-18.

Leading The Webb Schools to victory were Gianna Rabida and Tongqin Zan. Rabida had ten digs and three aces, while Zan had five assists and three digs. Those three digs gave Zan a new career-high.

They weren't the only good servers: The Webb Schools was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 13 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least seven aces in three consecutive contests.

The Webb Schools' win bumped their record up to 12-2. As for Calvary Chapel, their loss ended a four-match streak of away wins and brought them to 7-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matches. The Webb Schools will challenge San Gabriel Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Calvary Chapel, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Magnolia Science Academy at 3:00 p.m. on October 8.
